Are you getting any such error, while installing any Joomla site in your localhost , WAMP ??

Well,its because of PHP 5.3 , which comes in WAMP 2.0i package and not Joomla.


You have two choices to fix this issue,

either use WAMP 2h (previous version)  or download PHP 5.2.9-2 addon from WAMP website.

hi This is sultan , i am getting same warning insltalled XAMPP Windows 1.7.2
and joomla 1.5

hi, i tried installing your plugin but i could not get it right. i tried exiting and installing then i tried when it was loaded, I am Using vista , it runs fine in my XP, but on vista i dont know what is going on. please HELP(I am talking about WAMP)

to add, after installing the addon, you need to select the php version from wamp-icon on right side of taskbar, just click on icon, go to php and then version, and then choose the new lower version, to make it work

just left click WAMP icon in systray, select PHP -> PHP settings -> uncheck "display errors".

Thanks a lot, PHP 5.2.9-2 addon worked perfectly.

Just a not to some people, after you install it, Left-Click WAMP tray icon and go to PHP > Version > 5.2.9-2

Hello to all!

I have installed Joomla on Awardspace and I have recieved multiple :

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /~/www/mysite.awardspace.biz/administrator/components/com_comprofiler/library/cb/cb.database.php on line 459 [Community Builder]

and also:

Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty delimiter in /~/www/mysite.awardspace.biz/libraries/joomla/environment/uri.php on line 162

It seems to be related to PHP 5.2.5 used there. How to fix this?

I dont think, that should be a problem with php.

Ask your hosting guy to upgrade php to 5.2.9 and try then. It should work.

Once you down load the fix for WAMP from Source Forge (whichever mirror you use) WampServer2-PHP529-2.exe you MUST go into WAMP settings and configure the correct PHP version. This is done by left clicking on the WAMP icon down in your system tray, selecting PHP adn finally selecting Version - 5.2.9.2. This should rectify the Depracted messages you receive when WAMP is running PHP v5.3.x. Hope this helps.

ok, the problem is with this comment box. If you watch my previous post, you will see the spaces when you copy and paste into a browser window. To remove the space, everywhere you see %20 remove it from the URL.
